• Establish Scope and Budget: We'll determine the scope of the work and discuss your preliminary budget and expectations during this conversation. This ensures we align the project scope with your financial framework right from the start.

• Schedule In-Home Consultation: If we sound like a good fit and are aligned on the potential scope, we'll schedule a free initial consultation in your home to further discuss details and take initial measurements.

To ensure your construction numbers are realistic and accurate, we begin by defining your design in detail. We start with a design agreement, which guarantees you receive dedicated planning time and a detailed estimate that corresponds directly to your custom vision.

• Design Concept: You'll receive a curated vision, often using tools like Pinterest, with design ideas specific to your project.

​

• Floor Plans & Options: We provide multiple rounds of floor plan ideas for detailed discussion and exploration of various design options and layouts.

​

• Detailed Estimate: You'll receive a comprehensive estimate that includes allowances reflective of your preferences. We invite structural engineers, electricians, and other specialized tradespeople as needed to refine the quote and ensure accuracy.

Once we have a clear design path, we hand-select every item that will be going into the space.

• Personalized Design Board: You'll gain 24/7 online access to a private design board where you can view every detail of your space, see how each selection coordinates as a whole and approve items at your convenience with a simple click.

​

• In-Person Selection: We always conduct in-person selection for crucial finishes like countertops, tile, lighting, cabinetry, paint and more, as seeing these materials in person is vital for a well-informed decision.

​

• Quote Finalization: As selections are finalized, we continuously update the quote. This ensures that before construction begins, you have a very clear, comprehensive, and accurate construction price.

Once the final plans, major finish selections, and construction budget have been approved, we transition into preparing for the start of construction.

• Permitting & Timeline: We diligently work toward gaining all the necessary county or city building permits. Simultaneously, we provide you with an estimated overall construction timeline so you know what to expect and when.

​

• Procurement & Trade Refinement: We order long lead-time materials to prevent delays once construction starts. We also begin refining any custom design work and intricate details with our trusted trade partners.

• Preparing Your Home: We will provide you with a clear guide on how to best prepare your home for the construction phase. This includes details on clearing furniture from the work area, establishing necessary protective measures, and setting clear expectations for site access and daily routines.

As we head into the construction phase, the project moves from paper to reality. While we have a solid design-build plan intact, we remain open to your suggestions and preferences, allowing for flexibility to the design as desired.

• Dedicated Contact: You'll maintain the same main point of contact into the construction phase, which is a key difference from most other design-build firms, ensuring seamless communication transitioning from design to construction.

• Oversight: We oversee every step of the process, only working with construction partners who value great communication and show care and concern for our clients and their homes.

• Furniture & Fixtures Installation: If your design included new furniture and fixtures, this is the exciting time you will see all the final elements come into place, resulting in a cohesive and fully livable space.

• Staging & Photography: We stage the area with decor items and professionally photograph the transformation, ensuring the space is showcased at its best before the handover back to you.
